HISTORY OF ST. THOMAS SCHOOL, TEKANPUR



Fr. Gilbert Antony started the St. Thomas School with Nursery Class on 1/7/2016. After two years, a temporary hall was made, having three classrooms was blessed on 25th October 2018 by the late Bishop Rev. Thomas Thennat SAC.

After a few years, a new building with nine classrooms was blessed on 6th April 2022 by Most Rev. Bishop Joseph Thykkattil in the presence of Emeritus Bishop Joseph Kaithathara and in the presence of the priest of the Diocese, at the time of Fr. Lourd Nathan, Principal of the School.

Now the School is having Classes from Nursery to Seventh Class having 270 Students at the leadership of the principal, Fr. Joseph James. 


ADMINISTRATION


St. Thomas School is run under the auspices of the Gwalior Diocesan Educational &

Charitable Trust owned by Catholic Diocese of Gwalior. This school follows ICSE syllabus, as it started as a junior branch of St. Peter's School, Dabra (ICSE). The school has MP educational board (Dise code- 23040117501 & School ID - PS118469) recognition to run Classes from Nursery to VIII class. Ours is a co-educational Institution primarily started for the education of the Catholic children of Gwalior. Other children are also admitted without any consideration of caste, creed and status. It pays special attention to the formation of character with sound moral principles. It aims at the integral growth of the students which will enable them to become worthy citizens of tomorrow.

The curriculum is structured to meet and maintain high academic standards. The School is enriched with dedicated staff to bring out the best in pupils in terms of knowledge and creativity.
